Finding a trustworthy mechanic is the key to finding the best possible local vehicle mechanic that will give you the best results. Below, we will discuss some of the top tips for finding the best local vehicle mechanic.

Tips For Finding a Good Mechanic:

1. Ask Around.

One of the best ways that you can properly identify a good mechanic is by asking around. By asking around to people that you already know and trust, you should be able to find a lot of recommendations that you can help base your decision off of. Asking people that you trust already will allow you to find recommendations of mechanics that have already been vetted by people that have opinions that you can trust. This is one of the best methods and will ensure that you will be able to find the company that will not only repair your vehicle, but will also ensure that your car stays in great condition and runs efficiently.

2. Online Review Sites

Another excellent way to narrow down your options and choose the right mechanic is by looking at quality online review sites like yellow pages, facebook & true local, and selecting one that has a good rating. Nothing is more of a red flag than a company that has a bad rating with one of these sites. You do not want to choose a mechanic that has a poor reputation and a lot of unresolved complaints with them.

3. Reviews.

Another good thing that you can do to identify the best options available on the market is check for reviews. You want to look at the reviews of the different mechanics available on the marketplace to find one that is going to allow you to really be able to trust them with your vehicle. Finding a mechanic with great reviews is a great way to really minimize stress when it comes to choosing someone to work on your vehicle. Luckily, there are plenty of different review websites available nowadays that you can sort through in order to find sufficient reviews and information to make a well-informed decision.

4. ASE Certification.

Another thing that you are likely going to want to do is be sure to look for a mechanic that has proper ASE certification. As with other kinds of professions, their specific certifications that you are going to want to look for. ASE certification for automatic technicians is something that requires a 2-year degree along with the passing of a test. Therefore, you are going to be able to rest easy knowing that your mechanic knows what they are doing when they are working on your vehicle.

Overall, there is plenty to consider when it comes to finding and choosing the best mechanic. By following the tips above, you should be able to maximize your chances of finding the best mechanic to choose. How Do You Make Your Car More Fuel Efficient And Extend Its Longevity?

Knowing how to take care of your car is very important to improve its fuel efficiency and longevity over time. Regular maintenance can reduce problems with your car and save your money. Getting a better fuel mileage is what every sensible driver expects of his or her car. But how can you achieve this goal? On the other hand, taking care of the engine of your car can help prolong its longevity over time since the engine is arguably the most important component of the car. Here is how to make your car more fuel efficiency and extend its longevity. If all else fails, the best option is to find a reputable and trusted mechanic near you to have the proper tuning and repairs completed so you can get back to driving without any hassles.

Tyres

Tire pressure plays an important part when improving the fuel efficiency of your vehicle. That is why you need to maintain the proper tire pressure at all times. In fact, the latest findings reveal that properly inflated tires can reduce fuel consumption by at least 3%. The tires can lose 1 PSI per month under normal weather conditions. In cold weather, tire pressure can further decrease due to the thermal contraction of the air. That is why it is important to check the tire pressure of your car at least on a monthly basis – on a weekly basis under cold weather.

Engine Tune Up

A properly tuned up engine is important to maximize the fuel efficiency of your car. That is why it is important that you tune up the engine when needed. Make sure the spark plugs are good and you change the oil in a timely manner. The air filter should be kept clean at all times. A dirty filter can reduce the fuel efficiency of your car. Driving on dusty and dirty roads can clog the air filter – which will reduce the fuel efficiency of your car over time. Make sure you avoid dust clouds as much as possible and change the air filter when it is necessary. These are important things that you can do in order to improve the fuel efficiency of your car in the long run. If you don’t know how to do any of these things listed, it would be best to find a quality and reputable mechanic to have it done for you

Inspect the radiator

The aforementioned actions will help improve the longevity of your car. Apart from that, there are a few more things that you need to do in order to improve the longevity of your car. The coolant has a very important part to play in the operation of your car. When the engine is heating up, the coolant will cool it down to maintain the right temperature. It will stop the engine from freezing during winter months. If you don’t keep the coolant levels topped, the engine could be damaged to an extent where it is difficult to repair. That is why you need to pay close attention to the coolant levels at all times in order to prolong the lifespan of your car.

In conclusion, improving the fuel efficiency of your car is important to prolong its longevity. There are many things that you can do in order to improve the fuel efficiency and longevity of your car.

Repair Automotive Paint Scratches With Spray Paint

STEP-BY-STEP DIRECTIONS:
1. Clean: :01 – :27. First with soapy water or glass cleaner. Next with wax and grease remover.

2. Scuff: :27 – :45. With grey pad and firm pressure, scuff all paint surfaces within 24 inches of damage. Clean.

3. Sand. :45 – 1:31. Apply masking tape around scratches to prevent repair from ‘growing.’ Sand the damage with 220 grit sandpaper.

4. Fill (if necessary): 1:32 – 2:44 . If damage cannot be smoothed with sandpaper, fill with putty and spreader. Wait 5-10 minutes to dry (use heat gun below 50 degrees fahrenheit). Sand with 220 grit sanpdpaer.

5. Apply primer: 2:45 – 4:45 . Cover nearby areas with paper. Shake for 30 seconds and apply 4 lights coats. Wait 15 – 20 minutes to dry (use heat gun below 50 degrees fahrenheit). Remove Sand with 600 grit sandpaper. Keep paper wet. Sand edges of primer until smooth.

6. Apply base coat: 4:45 – 7:40. Shake can 30 seconds. Test spray pattern on cardboard. Apply multple light coats, vertical and horizontal, being sure to ‘blend’ new paint with old. Wait 5-10 minutes to dry. Never apply masking tape to the part your are painting to avoid ‘picture frame’ effect.

7. Apply clear coat: 7:40 – 9:34. Apply light coat. Apply heavier coat. Clear coat is dry in 20 minutes.
